Paul came to Velo Performance because he'd seen me talking about training specifically for cyclists hitting 40 + and how we needed to approach training differently. He felt his current coaching plan wasn't quite working for him so he decided to sign up for my new bespoke plan service (Keep your eyes peeled for info on this soon)
The training plan was tailored to fit tight training times around a young family, work commitments, making sure he got the adequate intensity and recovery to drive performance in his next event.

As promised here's an update following the gravel race in Yorkshire.
The race was a brutal test, with over 2000 meters of climbing in 63 miles with some bone-crunching, technical riding.
I went in with the mindset to ensure I pushed myself due to knowing that with the impending second child is due soon this was my last race event for a while.
My 20 month old daughter and partner came and stayed in the campervan the night before. Literally, no sleep was achieved due to my little girl hogging the bed.
Anyway, I ensured I paced myself, riding hard but not overexerting. I rode to 3rd overall, so very pleased.
I can say I felt strong, and powerful which is down to the new way of training and strength work you had me doing.
I also showed that I can still compete even with a crazily busy lifestyle. I followed your plan to a tee.
