I had an unfortunate cycling crash last year which resulted in a broken hip, this inevitably led to a few months off the bike. I was struggling to get back to my pre-crash fitness when I found Velo Performance. I watched a few of Simon’s videos and decided to give the training a go. I was teamed up with Pete who completely understood what I wanted to achieve. He outlined the approach needed and put a plan together.
My initial goal was to get back to where I was before the crash, however with Pete’s coaching that happened far quicker than I expected and so decided to carry on and I continue to improve. I am now beating PR Strava segment times that I set 10 years ago! And I’m mainly at the front when out with cycling friends – something which is quite new to me!
It’s not just about being better on the bike with Velo Performance; Simon and the team have created a great online Facebook group where I’ve learnt so much about nutrition and strength training as well. It’s also a great place to ask questions and find answers to any cycling/fitness questions as the knowledge base across not just the coaches, but the whole of the Velo Performance community is enormous.
